2024 Handmade Jewelry Forecast - What Is Changing at J&E?
Ok, please note that I am NOT an expert on economic matters, but I do want to share my "forecast" for J&E in 2024!
This blog is to give you a behind-the-scenes look at what is changing here at J&E.
Now that I have settled into the swing of things with a baby, I am able to better evaluate what I can manage in terms of creating.
One thing I am taking a bigger step away from is the use of resin. While I love the effect it has on clay, it is not a substance I want to have in my home around my child.
I am greatly reducing the amount of resin I use in my work, which makes me sad but I know that it is the right change for my lifestyle.
Another change coming? A new logo and website refresh!
I am working with a fabulous designer to get a custom logo for J&E, and I am so excited to share it with you when it is done.
You may have also noticed that my last drop didn't have any earrings in it!
Don't worry, they are not going away permanently! I needed a break from the intense earring making of the holiday rush of 2023, so I threw myself into making new items that I typically have not had the time or energy to work on before.
I am hoping to have more regular drops of necklaces and bracelets alongside my earring collections. Be sure to follow me on social media to keep in the loop on all things new!
This year, I am working on finding the delicate balance that allows for me to pursue fun new endeavors (hello, sewing machine that has been sitting unused on my desk for over a year) AND lets me take on custom orders and do regular website drops.
I have realized that in order to take on these fun new projects, I must also take time to do things that I love that are NOT work-related. For me, this looks like taking time to watch favorite movies or TV shows, hitting the gym a few times a week, and actually caring whether I eat greens every day (I do care, but it is work to make sure I do it!). Balancing this on top of taking care of a baby means that every day is completely different and that has been a bit of a challenge to navigate! I thrive on schedules and I have found having a baby to be unpredictable.
2024 is going to be a special year, I have no doubt about that. Jasper & Elm is going to be growing and changing in new ways and I am so grateful that you are here along for the ride!
