Herkimer diamonds are not actually diamond, they are a type of incredibly clear quartz! They are found only in Herkimer County, NY (though similar varieties of quartz can be found elsewhere, they cannot be called Herkimer if they are not from there!).
For best care, do not wear in the shower or while swimming in a pool or ocean.
